The Math Operation action allows you to perform calculations based on values from specific fields and update other fields with the result. This article provides an overview of how to utilize the Math Operation action effectively.

Numeric / Monetary Field Types

  1. Select Operation:

    • Navigate to the Operations drop-down menu.

    • Choose the operation you want to perform: Add, Subtract, Multiply, or Divide.

  1. Select Fields:

    • The Select Field and Update Field can either be the same or different, but they must be of the same field type.

    • Choose the numeric or monetary field you wish to calculate.

  1. Enter Specific Value:

    • Input the amount for the operation.

  1. Save Action:

    • Click Save Action to apply the changes.


Date Field Type

  1. Select Current Date:

    • Under Operations, click to select Current Date.

  2. Adjust Date:

    • Add or subtract any number of days, months, or years from the current date or any applicable date-type field.

  3. Save Action:

    • Click Save Action to apply the changes.

  4. Important Note:

    • If the output value is negative, it will be replaced with zero.


How Does It Work?

  1. Select Field: Choose any Numeric, Monetary, or Date field as input.

    • Only numeric, monetary, and date field types are supported.

  2. Operations: Select the desired operation and enter the respective values.

    • The Select Field and Update Field must be of the same field type.

  3. Update Field: Choose a field to update with the output value (the field type should match the Select Field).

    • If the output value is negative, it will be replaced with zero.


Custom Value Picker

The Math Operation feature includes a Custom Value Picker for enhanced flexibility:

  1. Navigate to Operations: Open the Operations drop-down menu.

  2. Select the Field: Choose the relevant numeric field from triggers.

  3. Value Field: Utilize the custom value picker to select any numeric field.

  4. Enter Specific Values: Input the value amount for the calculation.

  5. Save Action: Click Save Action to apply the changes.


Use Case

This feature is especially beneficial for businesses with recurring customers. For example, in a barbershop, if a customer spends $30 and returns for another service worth $30, the lead value can automatically update to $60, eliminating the need for manual updates. This streamlined process enhances efficiency and accuracy in managing customer transactions.
