Follow these steps to integrate the Conversion List for Google Ads with your Triggers and Workflows in Advisor's Growth:

Step-by-Step Guide:

Step 1: Adding the Conversion Action to Your Google Ads Account

  • In your Google Ads account, navigate to Tools & Settings from the menu.

  • Under the Measurement section, click on Conversions.

  • Click +New Conversion Action to add a new conversion.

Older Version:

  • Select CRMs, files, or other data sources.

  • Under Data Source, select Skip this step and set up a data source later.

New Version:

  • Select Track conversions from clicks.

NOTE: Choose what you want to track and select the appropriate options (Google Analytics UA, Google Analytics 4, third-party app analytics, Salesforce, or others). If tracking clicks on a page or user-initiated calls, make sure to select those options.

Step 2: Set Up the Goals

  • For the Goal and Action Optimization section, select Converted Lead as the primary option.

Note: The user interface (UI) may look different for some users, but you can choose Converted Lead as the conversion goal.

Step 3: Name the Conversion and Select the Value

  • Enter a name for your conversion. In this example, we’ll call it "Click."

Note: The conversion name must be spelled exactly the same when setting up your Google AdWords action in the Workflow Builder (final step). Copy and paste the conversion name for later use.

For users with the new UI, click on Settings for the conversion created and choose Conversion Action Settings.

  • Select a value (optional).

  • Choose the count: either Every or One. It’s recommended to select One.

  • Set the Click-through Conversion Window to 90 days and set the Attribution Model to First Click.

Click Done to complete this step.

Step 4: Setting Up the Workflow Action
Workflows can be created for Form Submissions, Order Purchases, Number Pool Calls, Survey Submissions, and Chat Widgets.

Form Submission, Order Purchases, or Survey Submission:

  1. Create the Workflow:

    • Select the trigger: Form Submission, Order Form Submission, or Survey Submission.

    • Add filters to specify the form, order form, or survey, then save the trigger.

    • Click the plus icon to add an action and select Add to Google Adwords.

    • Choose Other and enter the exact Conversion Name from Google Adwords.

    • Save and publish the Workflow.

Number Pool Calling:

  1. Create the Workflow:

    • Select the trigger: Call Status.

    • Add filters: Set Call Direction to Incoming and select the appropriate Pool Number.

    • [Ensure the Pool Number script is added to the funnel/website in the header settings.]

    • Click the plus icon to add an action and select Add to Google Adwords.

    • Choose Other and enter the exact Conversion Name from Google Adwords.

    • Save and publish the Workflow.

Chat Widget:

  1. Create the Workflow:

    • Select the trigger: Customer Replied.

    • Click the plus icon to add an action and select Add to Google Adwords.

    • Choose Other and enter the exact Conversion Name from Google Adwords.

    • Save and publish the Workflow.

NOTE: Every time you create a new campaign in Google Ads, select Other as your Google Adwords option in your new Workflow.
For conversions to pass to Google Ads, the contact/opportunity must have originated from a URL with a gclid parameter.

It may take approximately 24 hours for the conversion list to populate.

FAQs:

  1. How do I know if my conversions are working?
There is no direct way to test this event. You can check the Workflow action history tab to verify if the Google AdWords action executed.

  2. Where can I see my conversions?
It takes about 24 hours for the conversion list to populate both in the Workflow trigger and in Google AdWords Conversion. During this window, you can monitor the Workflow history.

  3. Does this work with all triggers?
No, it only works with triggers for Form Submission, Order Purchases, Incoming Phone Calls, Number Pool Calling, Survey Submission, and Chat Widget.
