In this guide, you'll learn how to effectively pause and resume workflows in Advisor's Growth. Pausing a workflow allows you to temporarily halt its actions, which can be helpful if you need to troubleshoot or make updates.

You can pause and resume workflows at any time by switching them between published and draft modes. When paused, the workflow will stop executing its actions until it is republished.

Why Pause a Workflow?

There are several reasons why you might want to pause a workflow:

  • If the workflow isn’t functioning correctly

  • If you need to make updates or adjustments

  • If you want to stop sending actions temporarily while keeping the workflow structure intact

Option 1: Pausing or Resuming a Workflow from the Workflow Menu

You can easily pause a workflow by accessing the Workflow Menu and clicking the menu dots. From there, switch the workflow to Draft mode to pause it. When you're ready to resume, simply publish the workflow again using the same method.

Option 2: Pausing or Resuming a Workflow from Workflow Settings

Alternatively, you can pause or resume a workflow directly within the workflow settings. To do this:

  1. Open the workflow.

  2. Toggle between Draft and Published.

  3. Save the workflow to confirm the changes.

Note: If a contact is midway through the workflow, such as in a wait step, any changes will only take effect in steps they have not yet reached. The contact will continue through the workflow as initially set up for all prior steps.

Changes in Location Transfer Behavior

Recent updates have impacted how location transfers are handled, ensuring smoother transitions:

  • Contacts will remain in their current workflows.

  • Workflows, campaigns, and triggers will not be drafted during location transfers.

  • All enrollment data in workflows will stay the same.

FAQ

You can pause a workflow by switching it to Draft mode, either from the Workflow Menu or from within the Workflow Settings. In both instances, use the Published/Draft toggle to pause the workflow.

3. Can I resume a workflow after pausing it?

Yes, you can resume a paused workflow by publishing it again. This can be done from either the Workflow Menu or within the Workflow Settings by toggling the Draft/Published switch.

No, any updates you make to the workflow will only apply to the steps the contact has not yet reached. Contacts will move through the remaining steps unaffected by updates made to earlier steps.

5. What happens during a location transfer?

During a location transfer, contacts will remain in their workflows without interruption. Workflows, campaigns, and triggers will not be drafted, and all enrolled data will stay unchanged, ensuring a smooth process.
