This guide will explain using the XML Sitemap feature, specifically tailored for blogs and SEO. The process helps business owners ensure their blog URLs are indexed within their website or funnel pages, making it easier for search engines to find and crawl your content. Let’s go over the steps:
Part 1: Configuring XML Sitemap Settings
To enable the XML Sitemap for your blogs, follow these instructions:
Go to the "Settings" menu and select "Domains."
Find the "XML Sitemap" link next to your domain, and click it. If necessary, add the domain.
A pop-up will appear, showing available funnels and blogs with checkboxes.
Select either the entire blog or specific categories to include.
Important: You must use the "Blog Post List" element in the site builder for proper functionality.
Part 2: Generating the Sitemap
After selecting your blogs and categories, follow these steps:
Click the "Proceed" button.
In the following menu, you can add, modify, or remove custom paths for the ending URL directory (e.g., /custom).
Once you’re done, click "Generate & Save."
Part 3: Confirmation and Automatic Mapping
Once the sitemap is generated, continue with the following steps:
A confirmation window will appear, indicating that the XML Sitemap has been successfully created for search engine use.
Click "Okay" to confirm.
From this point on, any new blogs or categories you add will automatically be included in the sitemap, as long as the Blog Post List element is used and categories are added.
Part 4: Indexing Blog URLs
To ensure your blog URLs are indexed, do the following:
Head to "Domain Settings" and choose "XML Sitemap."
Select the funnel or website pages containing the blogs or categories you wish to index.
New content will automatically be indexed as long as the Blog Post List element is present on the page.
Custom Paths (Optional)
If you need to add custom paths, follow these additional steps:
After selecting the funnel or website page in the XML menu, click "Continue."
Then, click "Generate and Save" to create the sitemap URL.
Automated Crawling
The system supports automated crawling for blogs and categories once the funnel page is saved in the funnel builder. This eliminates the need to manually adjust the sitemap via the domains page.
Note: Automatic crawling only works if the selected funnel or website page is set for crawling. You can verify this setting during the sitemap confirmation step.
By following these steps, you can maximize the benefits of XML Sitemap Generation to improve your blog's SEO visibility and search engine rankings.
