Using the Video Element in the Email Builder

With Advisor's Growth's email builder, you can easily incorporate video previews into your email templates and campaigns to enhance engagement.

The video element generates a clickable preview image (based on the video’s thumbnail), adds a play button overlay, and links the image to the video URL. When recipients click on the preview, they’ll be redirected to watch the full video.

Note: Embedding videos directly in emails is not supported by most major email clients due to technical restrictions.

Part 1: Adding a Video Element

Start by dragging and dropping the video element into the email editor. You’ll see the element’s settings on the left side and the newly added video element on the right.

Part 2: Selecting the Video Source

There are four video sources you can choose from: YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, and HTML5. Once you've made your selection, the system will automatically retrieve the video thumbnail from the provided URL.

Part 3: Inserting Your Video

After choosing your video source, simply paste the video URL. The system will display the video’s thumbnail within the video element.

Note: If the system cannot fetch the thumbnail (for example, if you paste a YouTube link while selecting Vimeo), it will trigger a warning. The editor attempts to pull the thumbnail based on the platform you choose. If the auto-fetch fails, you can manually upload a thumbnail image by adding its URL.

By default, the video preview aligns to the left. Unlike images, video previews cannot be aligned using the align attribute. However, you can manage alignment by adjusting the padding within a 2- or 3-column layout.
