What to Do If You Get the Google Calendar Writer Access Error

If you encounter the following error when connecting your Google calendar to Advisor's Growth:

"You need to have writer access to sync appointments to the selected Google Calendar. Please check with the Google Calendar owner in case syncing is required."

Follow these steps to resolve the issue and update the writer access:

  1. Log in to Google Calendar:

  2. Access Calendar Settings:

    • Locate the calendar you want to sync.

    • Hover over the calendar name, click the "⋮" (three dots) icon, and select "Settings and Sharing."

  3. Update Sharing Permissions:

    • Scroll down to the "Share with specific people" section.

    • Click "Add People."

    • Enter the email address associated with your Advisor's Growth account.

  4. Set Permissions:

    • Set the permissions for this email address to "Make changes to events."

    • Click "Send" to apply the changes.

  5. Sync Your Calendar:

    • Return to Advisor's Growth and attempt to sync your calendar again.
