How to Build, Edit, and Utilize Surveys

Surveys are a powerful tool for capturing lead information, gathering customer feedback, and qualifying potential clients. Understanding how to effectively use the survey builder within Advisor's Growth allows you to customize surveys according to your business needs. Although the survey and form builders share similarities, the key distinction lies in survey logic, which can help qualify leads based on their responses.

Overview of the Survey Feature

When you access the Surveys section, you'll notice three main tabs:

  • Builder: This tab lists all your existing surveys and lets you create new ones.

  • Analyze: Here, you’ll find submission data and visual graphs, which you can filter by survey and timeframe.

  • Submissions: This tab lets you view submissions by individual surveys or search by contact details like name or email.

Step 1: Creating a Survey

  1. Navigate to the Builder: Go to the Surveys section and click on + Add Survey to start from scratch.

  1. Edit Existing Surveys or Use Templates: You can also choose to edit an existing survey or select a template by clicking New Survey - Choose from Template.

Step 2: Editing Your Survey by Adding Elements

  1. Rename the Survey: Click the pencil icon to change the survey’s name.

  1. Add Survey Elements: Click the + sign to access the available elements. Drag and drop these elements into your desired positions on the survey.

    • Multiple Slides: You can add more slides by clicking the + sign below each slide.

Common Survey Elements Include:

  • Standard Fields: These cover contact details like Full Name, Email, Address, etc.

  • Custom Fields: Tailor fields to your needs, such as dropdowns, signature boxes, or text inputs.

  • Captcha, T&C, and Source Tracking: Enhance the security and clarity of your surveys.

Note: System-wide changes to standard fields are not supported; you’ll need to customize them individually for each form or survey.

Step 3: Styling Your Survey

  1. Access Styles & Options: On the right-hand menu, click on Styles & Options.

  1. Customize Layout: Adjust background, padding, borders, labels, and add custom CSS.

    • Background and Header Images: These options enhance the visual appeal of your survey.

  • Themes: Choose from professionally crafted themes to match your style.

Note: Background images are currently only available in the new survey builder. Use the preview option to see how your settings look.

Step 4: Adding Survey Logic

Survey logic is a critical feature that allows you to tailor the survey flow based on responses. You can guide respondents to different slides or disqualify them based on their answers.

For example:

  • Selecting "Yes" could lead to slide 3.

  • Selecting "No" could disqualify the respondent immediately.

Step 5: Notification Settings

  1. Enable Email Notifications: Receive an alert when someone submits a survey.

  1. Enable Auto-Responder: Automatically send a confirmation email to respondents with their submission details.

Step 6: Integrating and Using a Survey

  1. Access the Integration Options: Once your survey is complete, click Integrate Survey to get a link or embed code. You can embed this code on websites, funnel pages, or share the link through SMS or email.

  1. Use in Funnels, Websites, or Calendars: Surveys can be integrated with funnels, websites, or even calendars, making it easy for leads to fill them out.

Note: Check out the "How to Customize a Form or Survey" tutorial for more details on advanced customization.

Step 7: Version History

The version history feature allows you to access previous versions of your survey. This is useful if you need to revert to a prior iteration. The version history logs each change with its date and time, making it easy to track updates and restore older versions.

By following these steps and utilizing the features available in Advisor's Growth, you can create highly customized and effective surveys that align with your business goals.
