How to Create and Modify an Offer in Memberships
In this guide, you'll learn how to build and edit an offer within a membership.
Step 1: Create Your Offer
Navigate to Offers: Go to Memberships > Offers > Create Offer.
Set Up Your Offer:
Provide a title for the offer.
Connect it with a product and set the price.
Select the offer type and consider overriding the default price text if necessary.
Ensure the offer is live if you intend to accept real payments.
Save your offer.
Step 2: Build Your Membership
Edit Membership Details:
Adjust the title as needed.
Add a detailed description.
Optional: Insert custom JavaScript, CSS, or tracking code.
Verify that the correct product(s) are selected.
On the right panel, decide whether to keep it as a draft or publish it.
Adjust the pricing options (free, one-time payment, or recurring subscription).
Upload an image that will be displayed alongside your course.
Save your settings.
Step 3: Preview Your Membership
Preview the Offer:
Click the preview link to see how the offer will appear.
To share the page, click "Get Link" to copy the URL.
Note: In preview mode, features like Track Progress and Mark as Complete won’t be functional. To fully test these features, create a test contact, assign the offer, and access the membership as a regular user would.
Step 4: Finalize Setup and View Your Course
Save and Review:
After completing the checkout page, click save.
Return to the offers section to review what you’ve created.
Managing Offer Duration: Set an Expiry or Start Date
You can set a fixed access period for members based on their sign-up date. This feature allows you to offer access for a specific timeframe, like 6 months, 2 months, 1 week, or even 1 day. Once the period ends, access is automatically revoked, simplifying membership management and providing clear, time-bound access. Additionally, you can set a start date for when access begins, ideal for scheduled launches.
Setting Up Access Duration
Step 1: Define Offer Access Validity Duration
Select Offer: Navigate to the offer setup by choosing the offer you want to modify or creating a new one.
Set Access Duration:
In the offer details, find the "Offer Access" section and enable "Restrict access to a specific amount of days."
Specify the access period in days (e.g., 180 days for 6 months).
Step 2: Save and Apply
Confirm Settings: Review to ensure the access duration is accurate.
Save Changes: Save your updates. The specified duration will apply from the member's sign-up date. Ensure you publish the offer after saving.
How It Works
Automatic Revocation: Once the access period ends, the system will automatically revoke the member's access to the course content.
Setting a Start Date for Access
Step 1: Define Offer Start Date
Select Offer: Navigate to the offer setup for the offer you want to modify or create.
Set Start Date:
In the offer details, find the "Offer Access" section and enable "Begin access at a specific date."
Enter the desired start date. The offer will activate on this date.
This is particularly useful for product launches and pre-sales, allowing you to control when members can start accessing the content.
How It Works
Pre-Start Visibility: If members sign up before the start date, they’ll see the course page but won’t have access to any lessons or content until the specified date, only viewing the overview page.
Note: Course creators have the option to set either the start date, the expiry date, or both.
FAQs
Q1: What if a learner already has an active subscription or buys another offer for the same course?
The system will merge the new offer's validity with their current access, ensuring uninterrupted access based on the latest purchase.
Q2: What happens when a member upgrades or switches to another offer for the same course?
The member's access will be extended according to the new offer’s validity period. The new offer takes precedence, providing the best possible access terms.
