How to Manage Duplicate Contacts in Advisor's Growth

Controlling whether duplicate contacts are allowed in your system is essential for maintaining clean and organized contact records. This guide will show you how to adjust the settings to either allow or prevent duplicate contacts. If you need additional guidance on importing contacts, be sure to check out our "How to Import Contacts" article for a step-by-step tutorial.

Steps to Allow or Prevent Duplicate Contacts

  1. Access the Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Business Profile > Contact Deduplication Preferences.

  2. Adjust the Deduplication Setting:

    • To allow duplicate contacts, check the box labeled “Allow Duplicate Contact Records.”

    • To prevent duplicates, simply uncheck the box.

  3. How Duplicate Handling Works:

    • If Allowed: Duplicate contacts can be created when Advisor's Growth receives leads from a form submission or through Zap integrations. This setting is useful when leads are being imported individually.

  4. Important Note: When "Allow Duplicate Contacts" is enabled, bulk uploads may cause errors. The system is optimized to handle individual imports when duplicates are permitted.

By managing your duplicate contact preferences in Advisor's Growth, you can better control how your contacts are organized and avoid potential data clutter or errors during import processes.
