How to Add a Meta Tag for Google Search Console Domain Verification

To verify your domain with Google Search Console using a meta tag, follow these steps:


Step 1: Determine the Default Page

  1. Navigate to Domain Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Domains.

  2. Identify the Default Page:

    • Click to edit the domain you are working with.

    • Check which default page is connected to the domain.

  3. Open the Default Page in the Page Builder:

    • Navigate to Sites and access the page builder for the default page.

  4. Access SEO Meta Data Settings:

    • Open Settings > SEO Meta Data.


Step 2: Add the Custom Meta Tag

  1. Locate Meta Tag Information:

    • Copy the name and content values from the meta tag provided by Google. For example:

      • Meta tag: <meta name="google-site-verification" content="examplenumer11223344" />

      • name: google-site-verification

      • content: examplenumer11223344

  2. Add the Meta Tag:

    • In the SEO Meta Data settings, enter the following:

      • Name Field: google-site-verification

      • Content Field: examplenumer11223344

  3. Save Changes:

    • Save the new meta tag and update the meta data.

    • Save the page.


Your domain should now be successfully verified on Google Search Console.
