Cloudflare Setup Guide for Adding Your Domain
Follow these steps to seamlessly add your domain to Cloudflare, ensuring enhanced security, performance, and easier management.
Step 1: Create a Cloudflare Account
Sign Up: If you don't have a Cloudflare account, visit the Cloudflare website and create one.
Access the Dashboard: Once logged in, click on the cloud icon at the top left corner to access the dashboard.
Add Your Site: Click on +Add a Site.
Enter Domain Name: Input the name of your site and click Add Site.
Choose a Plan: You'll be directed to a page to choose a plan. Scroll to the bottom and select the Free plan, then click Continue.
Step 2: Configure DNS Records and Update Nameservers
DNS Record Scan: Cloudflare will automatically scan for existing DNS records associated with your domain.
Update Nameservers: Click Continue to proceed to the nameserver configuration.
Cloudflare will display the nameservers you need to point your domain to.
If your domain is registered with a provider like GoDaddy, log in to your registrar account and replace the existing nameservers with those provided by Cloudflare.
Note: It's crucial to point your domain to Cloudflare's nameservers to activate the site successfully. Without this, Cloudflare cannot manage your DNS or optimize your site.
Finalize Nameservers: After updating, click Done, check nameservers.
Quick Start Guide: Follow the Quick Start Guide on Cloudflare to enhance security and optimize your site’s performance.
If you've correctly input all the necessary nameserver information at your domain registrar, your site is now successfully connected to Cloudflare.
