How to Connect Your Domain to a Funnel or Website
Introduction
In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of attributing your domain to a funnel or website. Ensure you've already added domains to your account. If not, please refer to our tutorials on adding domains to your account. Once your domains are added, follow these steps to attribute them to a funnel or website.
Step 1: Attributing Domains Using the Settings Tab
1.1 Navigate to Domains Settings
Navigate to Settings > Domains:
Access the settings area in your account.
Select the "Domains" tab.
Edit Domain Attribution:
You'll see a list of all domain configurations added to your account.
To the right of each domain, there is a pencil icon. Click the pencil icon to edit a domain's attribution.
Select a Default Page:
Upon clicking the pencil icon, a default page selection will appear.
Choose a specific page for the domain to direct to.
Save Your Changes:
Click "Save" to confirm the changes.
Please Note:
The benefit of this option is that if someone types in the domain, it will automatically redirect to the designated page, regardless of how the path is configured for that website or funnel page.
Step 2: Attributing Domains Directly in Funnel or Website Configurations
2.1 Navigate to Your Funnel or Website
Navigate to Sites > Funnels/Website:
Open the desired funnel or website by navigating through the "Sites" tab.
Access Funnel or Website Settings:
Click into the "Settings" of your chosen funnel or website.
Select Your Desired Domain:
From the list of available domains, choose the one you want to attribute to your funnel or website.
Hit "Save" to confirm your selection.
2.2 Enhanced Domain Redirection Visibility
The visibility of domain redirection within the funnel and website builder has been enhanced. An info banner at the top of the overview page will clearly display any URL redirection details. For example, it might indicate, "The domain old.example.com connected to this funnel is redirected to newexample.com." This feature helps users manage their domains, funnels, and websites more effectively by providing greater clarity and understanding of domain URL redirection.
Please Note:
With this option, for someone to access the funnel page, they need to type out the full URL for the funnel, including the domain and the path.
Summary of Steps:
Using Settings Tab:
Navigate to Settings > Domains.
Edit domain attribution using the pencil icon.
Select a default page and save changes.
Directly in Funnel/Website Configurations:
Navigate to Sites > Funnels/Website and open the desired funnel or website.
Access the funnel or website settings.
Select the desired domain and save changes.
Combined Usage:
You can use either or both steps in this guide. If you add the domain to the funnel directly and select it as the default page, it will follow the domain configuration under settings. If you type in the domain without a path, it will redirect. If you configure both, you won't need the path to access the page. If configured only within the funnel or website, the path will be necessary to access the page.
